Dr. Mrinal Satish

Dr. Mrinal Satish is a Professor of Law at the National Law School, Bangalore, where he teaches criminal law. He is the former Chairperson of the Delhi Judicial Academy, and has been a faculty member at the National Judicial Academy, and at the National Law University, Delhi. He is the author of “Discretion, Discrimination, and the Rule of Law: Reforming Rape Sentencing in India” (Cambridge University Press). He was part of the research team that assisted the Justice Verma Committee on amendments to criminal laws (2013). He has been actively involved in judicial education on issues relating to sexual violence, and vulnerable witnesses. He has been associated in the Vulnerable Witness in Delhi since its inception in 2010. He has also contributed to the framing of the Vulnerable Witness Guidelines of the Delhi High Court (2012) and Jammu & Kashmir High Court (2019). He contributed in the designing of VWDC and execution of the training program of stakeholders (including all judges, prosecutors, police officers, legal aid lawyers) in the VWDC program in Delhi from 2010.
